The Modern Lanna Oasis
Where northern heritage meets modern tranquility, along a sleek walkway through lush wild greenery.
Where northern heritage meets modern tranquility. For Krua Mueang Phrae ("Flavor of the North"), a restaurant serving northern Thai food in Bangkok, the garden is the first taste of the meal.
The brief
With only 45 sq.m. between the street and the dining room, the restaurant wanted a frontage that felt like arriving in the north — green, a little wild, and welcoming — while still reading clearly from a busy road.
Design approach
Sleek geometry: the modern walkway provides a clean, architectural backbone to the lush, wild greenery around it. Boulders and dense planting press in on both sides, so the walk from the street feels longer than it is.
Community and connection: the space is designed not just for dining, but for creating lasting memories in a garden that breathes with you.
The result
A small site with a strong identity — the garden now works as the restaurant's signboard, entrance, and the place where diners take their first photo.
