The brief
KORI KORI offers sauna and ice-bath sessions in eastern Bangkok. The owners wanted the outdoor areas to feel like a retreat rather than a gym — a place where guests take their time between rounds.
Design approach
Designed as a sanctuary for restoration, the space brings together the rituals of sauna, ice bath, outdoor shower, and matcha into one immersive journey. Inspired by Japanese wellness culture and tropical architecture, the project emphasizes simplicity, natural textures, warm lighting, and mindful transitions between hot and cold therapy.
Big-leaf tropical planting screens the neighbors and gives the garden a lush, enclosed feel.
The result
A retreat within the city: guests move through the garden as part of the ritual, and the landscape is as much a part of the experience as the sauna itself.
